Quarry # 3, for several technical reasons, is the ideal quarry, the one that could be used as a textbook to teach the secrets of this industry. The direction of the stone is perfectly horizontal, perpendicular to the cluster of vertical joints. The blocks are extracted in all directions, on a horizontal plan. This property is very close from the main shipping port of Québec City.
