Full Job Description

Performs inspection, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of heavy machinery, including diesel engines. Troubleshoots and diagnosis problems, replaces and or refurbishes parts. Maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures service provided follow all standards of safety and procedures.

Quarry experience is helpful, but not required.

SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs, as well as keep records of all performed tasks

· Works independently with limited or no supervision at times

· Strong organizational skills and customer-service minded

· Performs maintenance and repairs on equipment motors, hydraulics, electrical and other operating systems

· Must be familiar with MSHA rules and regulations.

· Ability to work forty-hour work week plus

· Ability to work mandatory overtime

· Must be able to read a tape-measure

· Must have some computer skills or ability to learn company inventory tracking system

· Ability to multi-task and work at a set pace to meet production goals

· Ability to operate safely around people, equipment, stone, and other items

· Ability to quality inspect work to insure it meets industry standards

· Responsible for helping clean up any pieces/chips that might have broken off during the pitching or handling process

· Responsible for keeping his own work area clean, swept, washed and free of trip hazards

· Perform daily operator checks list and lubricate equipment to set standards

· Ability to successfully complete company provided individual training

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • An associate degree in diesel technology or completion of a traineeship is required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

  • Bloomington, IN 47403: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Diesel Engine, Truck & Heavy Equipment Mechanics: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Driver’s License (Required)
