Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary contact for Polycor projects;
o Ensure customer-service standards by addressing quality issues, resolving problems, attending meetings with clients.
o Track the progress of each production order.
o Provide weekly project progress reports to the management team.
o Advise the production team on issues related to quality, production scheduling and offer technical expertise as needed.
o Provide project coordination support for other Polycor product lines.
o Assist the Plant Manager with scheduling production as needed.
Resolve customer complaints.
Facilitate project production:
o Organize sample requests and prepares project ranges with Chief Estimator and Director of Operations who must validate decisions to align Pricing strategy accordingly.
o Receives executed Purchase Order from client prior to starting any work.
o Opens the project in Finance Pro.
o Create the project tickets in sequence.
o Select blocks and/or slabs in accordance with the customer’s requirements and accepted range.
o Analyze stone recovery data and make decisions on a regular basis to improve the recovery.
o Ensures inventory data accuracy. (material consumptions, WIP scanning and shipping documents).
o Select subcontractor when applicable:
– Negotiate T&Cs and follow their strict execution
– Issue Purchase Order(s)
– Control receptions and Quality with the assistance of the
Project Coordinator
o Review the quality of the work completed with the Plant Manager and the
Director of Operations on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards / customer’s requirements.
o Overall: ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs and compares them to initial projections contained in estimates/bids.
Provide feedback to estimators on gaps between estimation and actual results.
Participates in the development and enhancement of the reporting databases and web-tools with the Director of Operations, Plant Manager and the IT
Developer/Programmer.
Initiates or participates in problem solving methods as needed.
Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all other
Polycor subsidiaries; Shares Best Practices and Provides support as needed or requested by the Director of Operations.
Assists with all other activities as requested.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
Time Management: organization and planning, working with employees, customers and management, often spinning multiple plates at once.
o Excellent communication is a must and reducing information asymmetry must be a constant objective.
o Willing to do other tasks / projects in and around plant in times where projects are slower than anticipated (EX.: Sample room, Hardscapes and Masonry line)
Analytical Skills: needs analytical skills to be able to solve problems that may come up during a typical work day. You will be analyzing data and making decisions that affect the production on a regular basis.
Attention to detail is a must.
Ability to work with Standard and Metric system measurements is a must.
Must be able to calculate Cubic and square feet requirements for projects.
Proficient computer literacy (Microsoft Office) (AutoCAD is a plus).
English is a must; French is a plus.
Self-motivated and driven.
Ability to summarize and excellent writing skills.
Manufacturing Quality, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures such as Lean,
Six-Sigma and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Knowledge of usual construction business practices between owner, GC, installer and architects.

Salary: $58,000.00 – $63,000.00 per year
