Financial Accounting Analyst

location: Stanstead ou Québec, QC


Position Available: Immediately

Location: Stanstead, QC – Remote or hybrid work depending on place of residence

Reporting to the Finances Director, the Financial Accounting Analyst will play a key role within various divisions of the Polycor Group, primarily Rock of Ages, Canada. We are seeking someone passionate about managerial accounting in the manufacturing sector. Polycor is an international company where the candidate can fully develop their potential.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing monthly financial statements
  • Analyzing and explaining financial results as well as budget variances
  • Preparing financial analysis reports for management
  • Actively participating in the budget planning process
  • Determining the cost of goods sold and various production processes at production site
  • Working closely with site Operations Director, providing information to support decision-making aimed at improving site performance
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of fixed assets against established budgets
  • Determining the profitability of different projects
  • Ensuring proper accounting of raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and production supplies inventories
  • Reviewing payroll and making related accounting entries
  • Supervising inventory counts at different production sites and ensuring reconciliation
  • Participating in the external audit process
  • Assisting with the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Collaborating on various projects related to the department

Profile  

The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical skills and a strong sense of organization, with great attention to detail. Self-motivated and proactive, they work well in a team while also taking initiative to improve processes. Their strong interpersonal communication skills enable them to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clearly communicate financial information to stakeholders.

Exigences 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, a combination of other relevant diplomas will also be considered.
  • CPA designation or in progress is an asset
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience or a combination of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector
  • As our business partners are located worldwide, excellent French language skills (spoken, written) and a good command of English (spoken, written) are required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is an asset
  • Occasional travel to our different sites in Quebec may be required; a valid driver’s license is necessary.
